The TENOR Lab is a quantitative neurosurgery research group at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh. We apply rigorous analytic modeling to recordings from the human brain to reveal how it turns sound into meaning. A parallel focus is applying these modeling approaches to real-world observational data to identify the best surgical strategies for children with epilepsy. The subject matter differs, but the approach is shared: we turn complex, noisy data into models that show how something works, or how it should be done.
